A consultation is recommended but here are a few commonly asked questions about permanent cosmetics, medical & paramedical micro-pigmentation/tattooing plus semi-permanent makeup including microblading.
Microblading is a popular cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a handheld tool to create natural-looking, semi-permanent eyebrows. This technique has become increasingly popular in recent years, as it allows people to achieve fuller, more defined brows without having to rely on makeup or other temporary solutions.
The microblading procedure typically takes around two hours to complete and involves several steps. The first step is to consult with our experienced microblading artist to determine the shape and color of your desired brows. The artist will then use a sterile blade to make small, hair-like strokes in the skin, creating a natural-looking perfect eyebrow. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
After the eyebrow microblading procedure, it is important to follow proper aftercare instructions for the best results. This includes avoiding getting the area wet for at least 24 hours, avoiding makeup and skincare products on the area for at least a week, and applying ointment or cream as directed by our microblading artist.
What is Areola Restoration (3D areola & nipple tattooing)?
Victoria specializes in areola restoration. Using a 3D micropigmentation/tattooing technique, a new realistic areola is created or corrected to achieve symmetry with an existing areola and nipple. Victoria has been trained by multiple artists from around the world on their 3D techniques. Utilizing her training she has created a technique of her own. If one or both of your nipples were removed when you had a mastectomy, you can in most cases choose to have surgery, tattooing, or both to recreate the nipple and the areola (the dark area around the nipple). Some people find that having their nipples restored by a medical micropigmentation artist is an important final step in the breast reconstruction process. Consultations are required for pricing, as each case is very different. Victoria also has an ongoing list which clients can sign up to be on for donation purposes. Victoria donates her services once a month/one client a month for areola restoration for breast cancer survivors. Not all restoration is cancer related. In some cases the restoration can be needed because of surgeries, breast lifts, botched plastic surgery. A consultation is required for pricing.
What is paramedical and medical scar camouflage via micropigmentation?
Skin or scar camouflage via micropigmentation/tattooing of the skin is done with different colors of flesh tone pigments. The purpose is to disguise a scar or skin area that is lacking pigment or color due to injury, surgery and also vitiligo. It is a specialized area of permanent cosmetics that falls under the category of medical or paramedical tattooing. A consultation is required so that Confidence Med-Spa staff can evaluate the case and make appropriate recommendations. Micropigmentation isn’t always the best option to start a scar revision. In some cases a laser treatment may be advised first.
What is scalp micropigmentation & alopecia treatment?
Scalp micropigmentation injects tiny dots of pigment, which have carefully been matched to both your skin color and natural hair color, under the skin of your scalp to create the illusion of hair that has recently been shaved and is beginning to grow back. Whether it be male pattern baldness, the loss of hair caused by alopecia, hereditary baldness in women or thinning hair because of pregnancy we will evaluate the case and give you our educated recommendation on how to proceed. Not always is micropigmenation your best option to address the issue. We offer other treatments for hair loss that we usually recommend trying before we start the micropigmentation/tattooing process. A consultation is required.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin to simulate hair. Microblading lasts 1-3 years. Microblading should hold true to its color and shape but fade to a lighter version before completely disappearing. There is always the risk that the pigment can be implanted too deep and leave pigment in the skin for up to 5 years. When microblading is not properly done the results can be permanent.
What are Nano Brows & Combination Brows?
Nano Brows are a true tattoo technique in which a device is used to simulate hairstrokes in the skin using pigment in a more permanent fashion. Nano Brows last 2-5 years and at that point a color boost may be needed. Combination Brows, are just that, a combination of techniques to achieve a desired look. Combination brows usually incorporate a hair stroke simulation and a form of shading.
Is Permanent Eyeliner Permanent?
For the most part YES. Count on it being there for a lifetime. There may come a time in five to ten years in which a color boost is needed. Depending on lifestyle the color boost may come sooner but at that point the eyeliner will not be gone but just faded.
Can You Remove Permanent Makeup?
In some cases permanent makeup and microblading can be removed. Removal of any permanent or semi-permanent makeup is a timely and expensive process. Microblading can indeed be removed completely. Eyeliner, we are limited to portions of it that are not within-in the lashline. Lips, yes. We at Confidence med-spa offer the only form of removal safe on the lips.
What if I just had my eyebrows microbladed yesterday and hate them?
Although Victoria has never had any of her own work requested to be removed, we can remove them! We offer emergency microblading removal. If a client contacts us with-in 72 hours of having the procedure done, we can do a treatment that will fade them drastically if not completely remove them.
Why are there so many names for the same type of makeup procedure?
As permanent makeup and microblading has grown over the years, industry leaders trademark their work and offer training on their special way of implanting the pigment. Victoria does custom work and is trained in many different techniques, trained by many industry leaders to help you achieve the look you’re going for, which may be a combination of techniques.
What is the difference between lip blushing and full lip color?
The technique is the same no matter how you’re shading the lips. The degree in which you saturate the lip with color determines whether its full color or blushing. Blushing is the least concentrated color effect in which the lip simply looks “tinted”. Full lip color looks a lot more like lipstick. There are techniques in the middle and also contouring. Contouring can help one achieve a more pouty look and give back some definition to the vermillion border, which fades overtime.
